Bringing Your Electric Scooter on Public Transport

From 1st June 2017 in Singapore, commuters are allowed to bring their foldable e-scooters on board trains and busses at all hours of the day, however, there are some rules to follow.

  • E-scooter must be no bigger than 120cm x 70cm x 40cm
  • While on board public transport, e-scooter must be folded at all times
  • E-scooter must be switched off while on board
  • Wheels must be covered if wet or dirty
  • Only one e-scooter or personal mobility device is allowed on a bus at any one time
  • E-scooters are not allowed on upper deck or staircase of bus
  • Riders must not ride their electric scooter within MRT or LRT stations and bus interchanges or terminals but instead push or carry the folded device
  • E-scooter must not block aisles, doors or other commuters
  • Commuters with foldable e-scooter must use the first or last car of trains
